#4 Salette

Such a fun night at this little restaurant. It only has about 30 covers, so it feels wonderfully authentic, with a lovely warm atmosphere.

The night started with K vowing not to fill up on the bread, but unfortunately they brought out some beautiful slices served with a gorgeous tapenade of anchovies and garlic, so we were obligated to indulge. We then shared the courgette flowers, which were huge and served with a warm capsicum and tomato sauce. We also shared an artichoke heart salad with rocket and parmesan.

For mains D had the Chicken Provençale and K had the gazpacho with fried shrimp. We finished the evening with a lovely cheesecake for dessert. The cheesecake was deconstructed, with the biscuit base sprinkled over the top, which was a very cute touch.

We paired everything with a really lovely wine as suggested by chatGpt and loved it! Separate shout out to the awesome wine shop we went to prior to dinner appropriately named Pinot and Chardo. The owner helped us select a few local wines and even a local tonic.
